The layers behind better building
STRATA BIM is a specialty BIM modeling and coordination firm serving architects, engineers, general contractors, and owners across architectural, structural, civil, landscape, MEPF, and site utility scopes, delivering up to LOD 400.
A building is a stack of decisions
Every building is assembled in layers, and each one is drawn by a different team, on a different schedule, against a different standard.
STRATA was founded on the observation that most field problems are not design failures at all. They are layers that were each correct on their own and never checked against one another.
So the firm was built around the model those layers meet in. Six core fields, modeled to a single standard by one team, federated into one coordinated model, and carried to the level of detail a fabricator can actually build from.

What we are, and what we are not
STRATA models design intent supplied by your architect or engineer of record. We are not the architect or engineer of record on your project, and we do not stamp or seal drawings.
What we are
- Modeling and coordination of design intent supplied by your team
- Federated, clash-resolved models across all six core fields
- Construction-ready detail, up to LOD 400
- Shop drawings where the discipline produces them
- Construction and as-built documentation
- QA/QC against the standard agreed at kickoff
What we are not
- Not the architect of record on your project
- Not the engineer of record on your project
- We do not stamp or seal drawings
- We do not carry design responsibility or engineering judgement
- We do not substitute for your design team's review
- We do not change design intent without a written instruction
Design responsibility, engineering judgement, and the stamping or sealing of drawings remain with your architect or engineer of record throughout.
What we do not compromise on
How engagements are staffed
Each engagement is assigned a named point of contact who owns the coordination outcome, working with discipline modelers across the scopes the project needs.
Team composition is set at kickoff against the disciplines, LOD target, and milestone dates in scope, and is shared per engagement.
Detailed team profiles and staffing plans are provided on request, ahead of or alongside a signed NDA.

Project / Model Management
Every deliverable passes through the same eight stages
Quality control is a stage in the process with a checkpoint of its own, run against the specification agreed at kickoff - the LOD target, naming conventions, and coordinate basis - rather than against whatever the previous project happened to use.
- 01
Scope Review
We review project scope, drawings, and coordination requirements.
- 02
Kickoff
Kickoff call to align on templates, standards, and delivery milestones.
- 03
Specification Alignment
Modeling standards, LOD targets, and naming conventions confirmed.
- 04
BIM Execution
Modeling begins against the agreed specification and templates.
- 05
QA/QC
Internal quality checks against standard and specification before handoff.
- 06
Coordination / RFI
Clash coordination and RFI response cycles with your team.
- 07
Client Review
Model and drawing review with your team before final delivery.
- 08
Final Delivery
Coordinated, QA'd model and documentation delivered on schedule.
Built around how each team on the job actually works
Architecture Firms
Scan-to-BIM and existing-conditions modeling, coordination support, overflow modeling capacity, and hand-sketch-to-Revit drafting support when the drafting queue is longer than the schedule.
General Contractors / CM Firms
Clash-free coordinated models, BIM coordination across the federated model, shop drawing documentation, and field redline pickup carried back into the model.
MEP Engineering Firms
Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection modeling to LOD 400, with fabrication-ready shop drawings, isometrics, and installation details.
Structural Engineers
Structural BIM modeling coordinated against every other trade, with connections, supports, and clearances resolved before they reach the field.
Civil / Site Engineers & Landscape Architects
Civil, landscape, and site utility modeling integrated into the federated model, so grading, hardscape, and underground utilities are coordinated with the building rather than beside it.
Developers & Owners
Fewer field clashes, faster schedules, and one point of coordination across all six core fields instead of a model per consultant.
